Established in 2019
Surveying Solutions Australia was established early in 2019 with the goal of providing a high standard of engineering surveying in the infrastructure, mining, and energy sectors. Working directly with our clients every step of the way, we ensure to deliver on this promise of quality by holding ourselves accountable and taking 100% ownership of each task we are given.
With 40 years of combined experience, we understand this industry, are aware of the challenges and have spent the time developing solutions and solving them. We are, however, open minded with our approach and continue to learn as we develop over time. When there is a problem, we make it our problem to help solve it.
We are committed to safety and working as a team to manage risks and where we can – eliminate them.
We deliver on our promise to manage all aspects of engineering surveying including design set out, as constructed surveys, volumetric analysis, UAV surveys and point cloud analysis and 3d Modelling for construction set-out and machine control files.

Ryan Machin
Managing Director/Survey Manager SBQ 6760
A Highly skilled Engineering Surveyor with over 16 years’ experience in surveying and mapping techniques, using Total Stations and GPS equipment. Extensive knowledge and experience in engineering disciplines, principles, practices and techniques; In depth knowledge of surveying and mapping standards, specifications and regulations; experience in contract and drawing interpretations. Adept at building positive, cohesive relationships in teams and providing a mentoring approach to younger members and enforcing strict safety measures on the job. Tom Givney
Managing Director/Chief Remote Pilot
10 years’ experience in the construction industry and an Associate Degree in Spatial Science, Tom has built a foundation of strong work ethics and attention to detail in all aspects of engineering surveying. Establishing and managing survey on remote construction projects in locations such as Burketown and Weipa, he has a dedicated commitment to client relationships and safety. Tom is experienced in the use of total stations and GNSS for implementing control networks, construction set out, as-construction surveys and pre-construction detail surveys. Tom is the CASA registered Chief Remote Pilot for Surveying Solutions Australia and is certified as an Engineering Surveying Professional (ESP-AP) by the Surveying and Spatial Science Institute (SSSI).
