Contour and feature survey

When capturing all existing features and terrain it is vital that this work is carried out ensuring all data is traceable and ties into previous surveys to enable a seamless workflow to the design team on to the construction phase through to final delivery, Contour and Detail Surveys show the shape, features and services of a piece of land and are usually performed for design purposes prior to construction. This survey will identify topographic features to generate a detailed representation of the surface and contours on site as well as any visible man-made structures, natural features and services.
Features that are usually included and make up the contour and feature survey include:
• Topographic features that make up the existing surface profile i.e surface levels, change of grade, existing water course and easements.
• Existing Utility services (drainage, gas, power, sewer, phone, water, etc)
• Existing buildings and structures
• Adjacent property details and floor levels
• Street and verge features (crossovers, kerbs, footpaths, etc)
• Trees and vegetation
• Fences (types, heights and condition)
• Walls (types, heights)
• Boundary information and easements
• Other existing and noteworthy structures
